Sometimes ya just gotta laugh/scream

Rick,
This might be one of those rare cases where an Access Link to the database through ODBC could let you change the text of those FOB's to be the same. You would have to check to verify that they exist in just one unique table and that they are not part of any index. Then try it on a test database somehow to make sure it doesn't mess anything up.
Other than that, I would think anyone with the full Progress Programming package could write up a .r program to fix things up. The hard thing to know there would be to have a program know which items to delete and which to leave alone without telling the programmer exactly which occurrences exist out there.

Gang:

Okay. Here's my sad story.

When adding a new customer, at the point of selecting an appropriate FOB location (99% of the time, our own city), the S#@$ department would select ADD (!!). Yes they kept adding and using slight variations on the same thing. "RICH HILL"..."Rochester Hills, MI", or some other variation.

I have many, many loaded and of course locked out from deletion because zillions of orders reference one or another.

Is there any way, shape or form that someone has a little ditty that will change them all to one, correctly spelled FOB of my choosing. Ideally I could then delete all the extras.

(Yes I have secured all the little devils out now)

Thanks for any/all responses......
