Sound Off - What version of Vantage are you running

I am new to the group as well, though we have JUST recently kicked
off the project. I have a make-to-order environment, installing
8.03... SQL backend. We replacing MP2 and Great Plains, and re-
engineering all of our financial and material movement processes as
we go. Anyone have experience sucking data from these systems and
scrubbing it to prepare for Vantage?

I look forward to picking your collective brain over the
implementation cycle.

(2) Are you running SQL or Progress for your DB?
(3) When are you planning on upgrading?
(4) If you are going to upgrade, what version are you going to upgrade to?
(5) If you are not currently running V8, why haven't you upgraded yet?

6.1.536

(2) Are you running SQL or Progress for your DB?
Progress

(3) When are you planning on upgrading?
Trialing and conversion testing as soon as I return from Perspectives. Test server is on order to arrive any day now. Actual upgrade preparation will take about one year.

(4) If you are going to upgrade, what version are you going to upgrade to?
8.05...by the time we are ready to go live in Jan 2008...or at the least the pre-8.05 technology release

(5) If you are not currently running V8, why haven't you upgraded yet?
My employment depends on it working flawlessly and not causing ANY disruption to the business. I do not view 8.0+, base don many comments, to be ready to bet my job on it. But suspect in the time it takes us to convert reports, modify screens, create dashboards and do all the other things to make best use of 8.0+ it may actually be ready, safe and OK performance.

1) Currently running 6.10.538
2) DB is Progress
3) No earlier than latter part of 2007
4) 8.?? or another ERP system
5) Disappointed with the performance of version 8 and the hardware
requirements needed to run it. Seems like a real step backward
considering the processing power of even a 1GB system.

(1) Vantage 6.10.535
(2) 9.1D09 on Linux
(3) Not planning on upgrading
(4) NA
(5) Client requirements. It is my [personal] belief that an ERP system
should be light-weight (at least on the client). The client requirements
for 8 are heavier than the requirements for our 3D modeling software.
Version 6.1 works well for us. I see no reason to upgrade to something that
runs slower and requires more horsepower. Besides, only about 25% of our
workstations meet the 'requirements' for version 8.

Skipping 6 for various reasons. Was waiting on 8 due to performance and
