[SPAM] RE: OT - Microsoft Response Point Phone System

I have looked at this system and demo'ed it. I love what they are doing
with voice recognition but the only down side is that the system doesn't
scale very large no T1 lines for voice.

Apparently they were in the cordless phone business as well at one
point....maybe that should just be my clue!

Microsoft is in the telephony biz?! Nice... how often do you have to
reboot their phones?!

How about Asterisk? http://www.asterisk.org/ <http://www.asterisk.org/>
It's free open source.
For "business class" operations, there are commercially supported
versions. Buy the SIP phones of your choice. Runs on Linux or BSD unix.

We are looking to change our current phone system and add a new company to our current configuration. This is supposed to be a VoIP system.

Wondering if anyone out there has used or dealt with this particular phone system and would be willing to talk to me about it?

Thanks!

I though I should respond sice I posed a question about this at the
end of last year. We went with the Inter-Tel 5000. We were using
it between two sites very nicely with no issues. We are now using
it for home users and it seams to work great. Very easy to use also.

Manasa,

There are many issues that can "get ya" involving a VoIP solution that can
seriously bring down your network.

I would have a systems analyst do a network review of your environment and
look at your plan for your VoIP.

When done correctly and with the proper band width VoIP can be a very cost
cutting and pleasant experience, if done wrong, well. you are going to hate
it.

I have been involved with small to very large projects with this and you
really need to get the proper budget to integrate the hardware correctly
into your systems.

I can talk to you "off line" if you would like.

Thank you,
