Hi Stephen,
We originally thought the problem might be security but we have
attempted to run the package as domain admin with the same result.
We can even successfully run the package from the command prompt!
This is frustrating!!
Thanks,

Hi Robert,
If your DTS package works manually and not via a schedule it is
probably more likely to be the SQL agent is set to run in the context of
the
LocalSystem Account, try running this as a domain user / administrator
account.

Subject: [Vantage] v6.1 - Importing Progress data into SQL Server
Hi All,
We are trying to import data from Vantage 6.1 (Progress) into MS SQL
Server 2000 using a DTS package.
The package runs fine when run manually, but will not run when scheduled
or called from a procedure.
We believe it is the Progress ODBC driver (Merant 3.60 32-bit Progress
SQL92 v9.1D) which is not local but on the Vantage server and accessed
via a mapped drive, which is causing the failure. We think it has
something to do with lack of support for mapped drives in SQL Server. A
call to Vantage support informed us that is the only way the ODBC driver
for vantage can be installed.
Has anyone been successful in importing data into MS SQL Server in an
automated fashion?
If so, how did you do it?
Thanks,
Robert MacDonald
