Split Labor And Burden

Todd:

This is a good idea-our accountant would really like it!

Lydia

I'd like to propose the following configuration for splitting Labor and
Burden.
On Work Center Master screen :
Instead of :
1) Check box for "Split Burden"
2) Check box for "Labor = Burden"

How about:
1) Check box for "Split Labor" - if not checked - Labor would not be
split
a) Check box for "Split Evenly"
b) Check box for "Split according to original estimates"
c) Check box for "Split according to qty produced"

2) Check box for "Split Burden" - If not checked - Burden would not be
split
a) Check box for "Split Evenly"
b) Check box for "Split according to original estimates"
c) Check box for "Split according to qty produced"

Or use drop down boxs for the types of split requested.
To match the old "Split Burden" you would use NOT use option 1 and would set
option 2 to (a).
Emp # 1 - 7:00 - 8:00 - Labor = 1 hr ... Burden = 45 minutes
Emp # 2 - 7:30 - 8:30 - Labor = 1 hr ... Burden = 45 minutes

To match the old "Labor = Burden" you would use 1-a or b or c and 2-a or b
or c depending on how you want to split labor and how you want to split
burden.
Having separate switches and options for both labor and burden would give us
much greater flexibility on how we want to handle this.
Also, by having the a/b/c logic under each if someone down the road has
another way they would like to split then that method simply becomes option
* d.

This sounds like a logical, useful, and customer(user) friendly way to do
this. Epicor will never go along with an enhancement like this. I would
vote for it.
