SSRS - 2025.2.3 Epicor Cloud - RDL file size limit?

Hey,

Working on Pilot after the 25.2 upgrade last week, I’ve loaded a custom quote RDD and RDL from Live on 25.1.

According to the system monitor, the report was running without error. But I got no output.

That is, until I made the RDL file smaller. It had a large logo file embedded, along with older versions of the file.

Once I deleted the old files and shrunk the remaining image, the report produced output. And then I started customizing.

A version where the size was 406K or so did not print. But one at 404K does. I had to delete some changes to get back to that point. And I have more changes to add.

Any of this sound familiar?

Suggestions?

Thanks,

Joe

Wow that’s frustrating. I’ll have to do some experimenting, because some of my reports are definitely larger than that.

Kinetic magic number is 404?

With more experimenting, it doesn’t seem directly related to size. Or maybe it does, I don’t know.

Here’s one thing I did.

I started over with the old report, saved it over my new report, deleted old logo images and installed a smaller one, and then deleted objects and pasted in objects from a copy of the form I was editing and saved it and uploaded.

And it ran. Then I saved-as to “Good1” and uploaded, and THAT one didn’t run.

I’ve reloaded report builder, just for giggles and grins, but I’m not hopeful that will fix it. Never had this issue before.

Repeating, this is on a brand-new upgrade to 25.2.3. Wondering if anyone else has tried this after the upgrade.

Doh.

Just a popup blocker. Turned that off in the address bar and it works just fine.

Ah well.

Hey, this could still help some poor lost soul one day in the future. All good.

It’s always the little things.

We upgraded a week ago, and all last week we have been dealing with errors that are utter lies and the solution every time has been to clear the browser cache (for more than a week FYI!).

Yet I still get duped into thinking there is some actual problem.
