SSRS Calculated Fields

Can somebody help me understand how to find what a calc field is returning or being set to in a SSRS Report?
I’m working in the ARForm. In the RDD there’s a calculated field on InvcHead called CustEmailAddress.
I see that field if I open the report in Report Builder. Calc_CustEmailAddress.
There’s a breaking/Routing rule in Report Style that says “Send an email to the Calc_CustEmailAddress”

HOW DO I FIND OUT WHAT THE HECK IT’S BEING SET TO? What’s the calculation? Where’s the calculation? How is it calculated? Is it magic?

Holy crap there’s another post from 5 years ago that asked the same thing! God I love this website.
Is decompiling the DLL really the only way?

Pretty sure calc fields in RDDs are black box stuff.

They typically don’t tell us customers how the calculations are done. If you have the SDK I think you can look it up without having to decompile DLLs

So I guess just shut off the routing, make a custom report with a bunch of text boxes and see what I get. That’s stupid.

If memory serves me Epicor looks for a Customer Contact and will retrieve that email address. But if no Customer Contact is listed then it will retrieve the base level Customer email address. I think.
You can setup an Invoice in Test with obvious (and fake) email addresses to see what is getting pulled in.

We just pull the email address field we want and don’t use the calculated one.
