SSRS Design Publish Error

My last SSRS posting seems to have “Disappeared” - So here is an update.

If you try to “Publish” an SSRS report you will get an error with a Correlation ID.

I have multiple tickets open for many weeks now.

I can only guess that since Epicor is suggesting a “workaround” (which is horrible - extract zip files - modify - re-zip - re-upload Test - rinse repeat) that the issue has been given a back seat - maybe all are focusing on Bold Reports now? I’m guessing.

But for anyone out there trying to do SSRS reports and trying to use the Download - modify - Test - Publish - you are out of luck.

Kinetic report style or “Download for design” is a broken mess. Even Classic UI’s “download for design” is now broken if you try to publish. I use Classic to design and preview then Classic Report Style to upload the RDL.

The whole messing with the ZIP file is a PITA.

We still download RDLs, use Visual Studio to modify them, then upload them. All outside of Epicor. We run them from Epicor of course, but never found a better way to modify SSRS reports. We’re also still using Classic screens

We’re SaaS do downloading a RDL is fine but can’t do any preview without using the download for design feature. In Classic --when it still worked-- it was amazing. If they can’t get the Kinetic one up to snuff, hopefully they’ll add it to the Power Tools.

Mr. Randy: I Totally agree - when it worked it was phenomenal. I have not been given any reason whey fixing it is so difficult and why such a low priority.
