SSRS Modifying a report

So i’m taking my first stab a creating a custom report. One is there a good guide out there on how to do this? second… what i’ve done so far is create a copy of both the report data definition and report, created a new style and pointed the new style to the new copy…all with success. My question is how do a get new labels and field to show up as part of the existing datasets?

If you have access to Epicor’s Embedded Education in your training environment, there are SSRS courses that go through the process of adding additional fields/tables to a Report Data Definition and adding those included fields to the RDL report dataset.
