I am working on migrating Crystal reports to SSRS. We had 2 Crystal report styles living under the StkStat report style which I have now rewritten as SSRS reports. Now with all reports built as SSRS reports, when I try to launch the Stock Status report under Kinetic, I’m greeted with the message that the Edge Agent is required. I would expect the Edge Agent would be required if I wanted to print to a physical resource, but the message appears as I try to launch the initial Stock Status dialog. I contacted Epicor and they said that the Stock Status report…including the standard Epicor SSRS report…requires the Edge Agent. Can anyone confirm this? Seems very odd to me. I have many other report styles that I have converted the Crystal reports to SSRS that launch without issue under Kinetic.
Yes, I can confirm it is trying to load the classic screen. Even with the edge agent running, it displays the classic dialog. I figured Epicor’s response wasn’t accurate. So the question is, why does it want to launch the classic screen vs the Kinetic one as you are seening?
I don’t have Classic anymore to look at the menu… but I would make sure the menu has the Kinetic URL… you may also want to double check the menu’s launch option. I forget where/what it says at this point… but basically: Classic, Kinetic, or User Selection… something like that.

I found the issue. This particular report has a customization on it. I didn’t even think to check for that. Removing it solves the issue and the dialog will now launch as a Kinetic form vs the classic UI dialog.
