Stock Status Report using retroactive "as of date"

I was wondering how any users were able to print a inventory stock status report using an "as of date" (Retroactively)

We are on version 8.03.410 and the as of function does not work. You can put any "as of date" and the report includes current inventory.

Are there any work arounds?
Does any later versions have a working stock status report where it can backward calculate the correct balances and costing retroactively?
