Stock status report

Vantage allows you to play catch-up. You can ship a customer's product
from stock driving inventory negative, and then receive the quantity
from the job to bring back to zero at a later time. Not a preferred way
to work. There is a global alert "Part on-hand is below minimum" which
implies 0 as a minimum and emails me everytime something goes negative.

We ran a stock status report and on 5 parts, it gave us a unit cost that was negative. Has anybody every run into this? Why did this happen?

Thanks,
Jasper

I've had some funky results on the stock status report as well. The
problem turned out to be finance was back dating some cost changes. The
system looks for the newest adj-cst (I believe it is this trantype) to
determine the cost (depending on what version you have). I traced
through parttran records before finally making sense out of it.

I believe this is a bug and created by backdating cost adjustments. When
the stock status report is backdated (aged of), it does not calculate
the cost correctly.

The stock status report is cost aged based on transaction date, like the
stock quantity, but it should be applied based on system date,
especially in the case of average stock

I have a support call open at the moment on this subject.

No,
The report was generated right after we did our annual physical inventory so no negatives were in the system.

Thanks,
Jasper
