Strange thing

I found that I had to exit Vantage and re-enter for the temp directory
to be pointed to the correct spot. Thanks, Mike and Matt for your help!
Apparently when someone reinstalled the client the last time they put in
the wrong directory for the temp location.

All of a sudden the rptxxx.txt files that are created by progress
reports are not appearing when you print preview. Has anyone ever had
this happen. Our purchasing person uses this to bring into Excel and is
rather upset that this started happening. I did a search on those files
but nothing is showing up.

Thanks!

Is she 'leaving the preview' open when she looks for the file?

Matt

Yes, both of us left the print preview open but no file appears in the
working directory.

I have also discovered that the files for all the temp directory stuff
are being placed in PRG91D, the progress directory. I tried
reinstalling the client on another pc to change the settings but they
are still going there.

Check your mfgsys.ini file. Towards the bottom in the "mfg workstation installation" section there should be an entry for setting the local working directory

LocalWorkDir=x:\xxxxxx\sssss yada, yada, yada

Then, check your mfg files.

You should see a line like

TempDirectory=x:\xxxxxx\sssss again, yada,yada,yada

Mike
