Stuck Jobs

Todd,

We had a similar issue here a long time ago, probably 2-3 years ago,
so my memory of the solution is very vague. But there was a trick
that did work when nothing else would, I'm thinking it was deleting
the operation. Have you tried that? I remember trying with no
success to change the operation which was the straight forward
approach. There was something that wasn't so straight forward that
did work, I wish I could be more sure about it for you, sorry.

on the job the hours become astonomical and the job can no longer be
accessed - either to unlink from orders or to edit the value. It
gives the error that the value can not be displayed using Z,ZZ9.99
and closes Vantage. The job also can not be closed. It just sits
there forever. One time we let it run over the weekend (as advised)
and it ran until the B1 file consumed the entire disk the database is
on. Fortunately Support as able to help me truncate the B1 file and
fix the database.

I think I posted about this a month or so ago but I have more info now and it has become a huge problem for us.

We occasionally get jobs that can not be accessed because an operation has in incorrect estimated production value. For whatever reason (still looking for the root cause) once in awhile the pcs/hr value gets in there as hrs/pc. Then when multiplied by the quantity on the job the hours become astonomical and the job can no longer be accessed - either to unlink from orders or to edit the value. It gives the error that the value can not be displayed using Z,ZZ9.99 and closes Vantage. The job also can not be closed. It just sits there forever. One time we let it run over the weekend (as advised) and it ran until the B1 file consumed the entire disk the database is on. Fortunately Support as able to help me truncate the B1 file and fix the database.

Here is the specific situation now:

Vantage 6.10.511
Job Qty: 1,800
Operation Seq 100 - WC 250 / Oper 900 (shipping) normal std is 2,000 pcs/hr
on the oper for the job the est value is .1262 pcs/hr
multiplied by 1,800 gives 14,263.07 hours

As stated above - trying to edit the operation crashes the client Vantage session.
trying to unlink orders crashes the client Vantage session
trying to close the job runs a long time until it crashes ALL of Vantage

Any ideas how to fix the oper on this job? Perhaps force the correct standard onto it?
