What version are you on? We had a similar issue (one of dozens) with the buggy, ill conceived PO Entry app in 403 & 404 and put in our own client customizations to overcome.
405 (we're now stable on 405a) had a major rewrite of PO Entry and most of those customizations went 'kablooey' - but fortunately almost all were no longer needed as the 405 base app was finally processing core functionality correctly.

We are setting up subcontractor' s in our system now and have run into
a snag. On the purchase order's if we buy inventory stck the unit
price for the item pulls into the PO just fine.
If we run a subcontract operation PO (we have the price list for this
vendorin place) the unit price will not pull into the PO. Does anybody
know why it will not pull the subcontract vendor unit price in, but
works for inventory vendors?
