Subject: Sales Order Part not-matching Job Part

Babette,
Why would such a change be permitted? Do you mean they can just make a part
# change and not consult with production and engineering departments? Sales
aught to have procedures to follow to cover weather or not the started job
can be converted to the new part, stop production for appropriate changes,
consider extra charges for the change and new setup, etc.
I just don't see how they think that is a good thing to do (for themselves,
their customers, or the rest of the company). It's setting everyone up for
failure. Discipline them, and make them tow the line.

Subject: Sales Order Part not-matching Job Part

Here is the scenario...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns =
"urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />
A Sales Order is created > Gives a Job Suggestion > The Job is created for
this part.
Then our 'wise' sales people change the part number on the order.
Vantage used to give a job change suggestion for this new part number thus
warning that the SO-part no longer matches the Job-part.

For some reason Vantage no longer creates job change suggestions
when the part number in the Job and the Sales Order do not match.
This seamed to change when we upgraded Vantage 5.1.

Our concern is that the production will make the part on the original job
and sales will claim it is the 'wrong' part.

Has anyone else noticed this?
We are running Vantage 5.10.131

Thanks
