we want to create a Blanket PO in Epicor. The period is long, approximately 5 years.
Monthly approvals are required for the Blanket PO.
Set up a blanket PO with a release process, How to setup this in epicor any thoughts?
What are you buying , is it parts, time, rental etc?
No. its not a part. Professional Service, software subscription and etc.,
So in the past, for professional services, we would create a PO for a large amount of hours and then receipt in the number of hours consumed.
Ok, how to check or enter the contract start date and end date
This comes down to what are you going to do with the data, required by date could be the end of the contract, although a couple of UD fields would suffice, possibly with a BPM to close the PO when the end of the contract is reached.
Okay. Would the Purchase Contract module be suitable for these requirements?
The PO contracts, could be used, as it adds releases based on MRP runs, so as long as the consulting required has a demand, it could be used.
In this Epicor Idea on Blanket Purchase Orders, one of the comments was to include non-inventory items like lawn service (mowing or snow pushes) where there is a fixed price for a given date range, and variable number of deliveries. Another case is a retainer by lawyers where a bucket of money is used over some variable number of times. This would add the prepayment side to the PO. These are similar to what Andy suggested but it would make releases easier to do by deducting from the bucket instead of doing it manually. These requirements weren’t delivered, so maybe a new Idea?
