Summarized BOM Report

How can I get the Summarized BOM Report info into Excel from 803.804b.
We are running Vantage 8.03.305i. When we run the Summarized BOM Report
it cuts off the end of our part numbers.
Epicor admits to the problem but since it is a Progress Report they
say they won't fix it. In fact they claim to fix a report they
included "out of box" would be an enhancement. They have offered to
sell us a report.
So I would like to know if anyone else has fixed this problem and if
so could you offer me some guidance? As you may guess I know next to
nothing about Progress Based Reports.

Thanks in advance,

Kirk,

I would advise that you write your own report using Crystal and ODBC. I
just completed one that I use to generate supplier forecasts and it
basically lists all lowest levels along with their extended quantities.
We are running Vantage 8.03.403C.

Is it safe to assume you are a relatively new customer to Epicor, recently paid Epicor a five to six figure number for the product modules (depending upon the modules purchased and the number of licenses), and are also paying a 4-5 figure under an annual service/maintenance fee?

The "that is the way is the way the programmer wrote the code - and it doesn't generate an error - so it is NOT a bug" response to a user reported problem is the norm for Epicor.

If you feel strongly enough about it, elevate your request (in writing) to successively higher organizational levels at Epicor until you get it resolved. As a CYA during that process, have your attorney review the initial puchase and annual service contract to look for ways their 'do nothing' response can clearly be interpreted as a contract default.

Worst case, have your attorney write them (armed with this contractual interpretation) suggesting they simply resolve the issue before it becomes a messy legal one.
