Tape Backup's and Data collection

Bruce,
The UD directory, the Userforms directory and the VBP directory are ones
that I would be sure to back up here. But yes, stay away from the db
directory.

Just wondering what you'd want back up?

I run an online backup with a batch file to create backup.1 in a
separate directory.
Then I back that file up to tape.

I get the db but not anything else.

I know I'll have to start backing up custom crystal reports soon.
What else would a guy need to back up to tape?

Thanks,

Bruce Ordway

BTW, I've never had a lockup but I'm not touching any of the db
directories.

Just thought I would give all a head's up.

On vantage 6.1 using a dell server, Intel network card, you may have users
disconnected for no reason (from Epicor Ben Nixon)

Also I just learned from tech support if you backup any files in the
database (training, live, or any other database directory)

As the tape backup (backup exec) is accessing the files the database may or
will stop. Do not just exclude the '5' files. Everything in the directories
(\mfgsys61\db) must not be selected. If you do you may get a call in the
middle of the night to restart a database. I am still checking data to see
if jobs on the floor have any problems. If anyone out there knows of any
other details about this please let me know.
