After stopping and restarting the task agent (we had some reports stuck), our task agent just disappeared! (See screenshot) If we check the View events log, “No agent settings have been configured”. If I try to recreate it through Add Task Agent, it says that a “Task Service Agent has already been registered with this server the maximum allowed number of times”
Has anyone had a problem like this and was able to solve it?

I think this will work…
plz try : go to Action in Task Agen Configuration
Stop services.
2.Restart the service
Start Agent

Thanks Prakash. I have tried all of that and it didn’t work.
There is no Task Agent and when I try to recreate it I get an error.
can u plz post the screenshot of ur task agent confi.n Action menu ? like this…

Sure The Task Agent is gone and stop service / restart service don’t bring it back as it shows in another server (third screen shot)

Same issue i have got yesterday please run this you will be able to add new
task agent
delete from ice.extserviceregistration where serviceid=‘TaskAgentService’
( to remove complete taskagent)

one of the solutions i have read on another portal is…
Go to epicor admin console
2.stop application pool
3.start application pool
go to task agent configuration> actions>stop service
actions>restart service
not sure but, on portal it was marked as a Great Solution…

GREAT! You solved my problem. After unregistering the Agent with your query, I was able to add the Task Agent again and now it works like charm!
