Task Maintenance bug

Thanks Rob,
I tried playing with Refresh and the order of events and can't quite seem to get it to work.  I placed a call with Epicor Support so we will have to see what they come back with.
Thanks again for the reply.

We are on Epicor 9.04.506c and are running into what I think is a bug.

We utilize Case Entry (previously called Help Desk) quite heavily and use the Task Set and Tasks to manage our cases. Occasionally, a user will select a task in the Task Tree and then move to the Task Maintenance tab to edit the task. When he/she clicks on a field, it switches to the first active task instead of the one selected. This is causing problems as our users are editing the wrong task without knowing it.

Has anyone else run across this issue? If so, do you know what is causing it and if there is a fix or workaround for it?

Thanks!
Adele
Just bumping this to the front again as it is causing us a lot of problems and I can't find a fix for it...

I know this is an old thread, but I think I have found a variant of this in 701.  Basically every time you open the Case form the Task tree reverts to the first task in the list regardless if it s completed or not.  I would expect the behavior that the task tree would default to the first task that is yet to be completed.

I really need to know how I can change the focus of the task tree to behave as I have described.  If anyone has any ideas on how I can set the focus to the correct task on form load that would be excellent and solve a really big problem for me.

Now this is a REALLY old thread.. but a user just approached me today with this same issue.  Has anyone figured out a workaround?

Thanks,

I’m not sure if this is the same issue or not, I vaguely remember an issue similar to this in our system, though I think it was around ECOGroup tasks... I found that using the refresh button when they did this helped prevent this from occurring. I can’t exactly remember the sequence of events, but try playing around with that a bit and see if that helps. I believe I wrote a bpm that caught it if it jumped back to an older task and raised an exception.
