Task set not moving to selected next milestone

We have a task set with a number of parallel options. So at each step, a user is making a selection from one of several options until the path is complete.

We have encountered a situation where the user is selecting the correct next step (we can see it in the Task Detail) but the task tree is showing something completely different.

The flow should be (by sequence number):

20 → 40 → 4000

Instead it appears to be:

20 → 40 → 51

The user is selecting task 4000, but task 51 is appearing in the task tree as the next task. Details in the attached .pdf

@skhayatt, it appears that this might be a task set that you developed based on our past discussion (Branching logic in task set). If so, for this issue, do you happen to have a grid layout similar to the one that I included in our previous exchange? IMO, it makes it easier to see the forest and the trees!

I do – sort of. It’s basically a BAQ of milestones and next milestones.
