Technical question

1. I don't run Diskeeper but if it has a continual or real-time mode running
the in background all the time I would be very leary of it. It ought to
have a "hands-off" option for selected files. No matter what they say
running it against an active database might be trouble.

2. I had a similar security issue when I activated Data Collection and set
many menus to 'Disallow" to make them invisible to data collection users
(even though they could not have used them anyway). People who were not
"pure" DC users but had that security group suddenly lost the same menus.
Seems disallow overrides allow. Taking the group off of those people
restored the missing menu options.

We are running NT 4.0 Server and are using a utility called Diskeeper 6.0
build version 377 by Executive Software. We have been having issues of
people freezing up in Vantage (running Vantage 4.00.807/ Progress 9.0B). We
don't know if this has caused the issues as we just started using the
Diskeeper a couple weeks ago. Is anyone using this and having similar
problems, or no problems?

We are also running diskeeper with no problems. I have had freeze ups on 1
workstation running w2k however it is rare and i think has something to do
with printing to a particular printer.

I wanted to load Diskkeeper 5.0 on our Vantage server but was afraid to have
it defrag the db and bi. Do you allow it to hit the database files
themselves?
