Temporary labor

We use an external application for payroll processing. We did not want
to risk the visibility of hourly rates within Vantage, and we wanted to
make the whole system a little simpler to look at. In our design we set
all labor rates to $0, and include the labor within the burden for the
machine. Not great for all, but works well for us.

Subject: [Vantage] Temporary labor

How are others capturing costs for temporary labor for production. We
are
trying to see what other companies are doing about the labor and burden
and
how it is being accounted for.

Thanks,

Jim

We are on Vantage 6.1, but Support says this occurs in 8.X as well.

In Order Entry Header Maintenance, if you change the Need By date or
Ship By date you'll get a message asking if you want to "Refresh the
Lines and Releases with the changes". If you say YES it will change
the due date on the line and release to be the same as the header.

You can change these as often as you like and it will always work if
you hit Yes everytime.

If you ever say NO, it will not change it that time or any subsequent
time that you hit YES.

A person could easily think they are updating the date on the line
and release by hitting YES, but it might not be so if someone had
previously answered NO.

I think this is a bug, support wrote it up as an enhancement request.

I realize there is a snowballs chance that it will ever get fixed in
6.1, but I can at least hope they'll fix it in 8.X by the time we get
there. Please call and add your name to the list. The # is 387ESC.
