Terminal server installation

Tim,

on behalf of Erik and myself thanks for your reaction.
We have not solved the problem yet. When we find the cause then we will post
it on egroups.

Erik,

I'm not sure why you are having performance issues. If you
run with only one user on the system, is it the same way?
Do you map any drives in the terminal server login? Is the
Vntgwork directory in the Terminal server users directory?
I'm just guessing now, I'm not sure why. There is a website
thethin.net, that has a searchable archive of messages you may
want to try. Good luck

we have installed vantage on a server through a terminal server
server, but it performs badly. it is very slow, it takes minuts to
start vantage and printing is even slower.

when we start vantage from a client without using terminal server we
have no performance issues at all.

Does anyone have an idea what could be the case here?

specs:

terminal server server:
pentium II dual processor 330 mhz
400mb ram

vantage server:
compaq proliant ml 350 pentium III 750 mhz
256 mb ram
raid 1, 4 disks

thanks,

Our installation works fine, in fact, some users would

Going to the plain bitmap splash screen that was posted earlier would help.
But what is your method of communications and speed? We are just getting
started with terminal server. When I started looking for a server, my
consultant said having enough memory will be very important. And this can
depend on the number of users and what all they are running.
Hope this helps
Nancy

Tim,

I'm running this at one location,
Vantage 4.00.815 and Progress 9.0b37 are installed on a stand alone server,
Terminal Server on another, both are located at the same place same network.
The ClientSetup was done on the Terminal Server with the add/remove
programs.
Spec TS Dual Pentium II 333Mhz 400MB
Vantage server Compaq 730Mhz 256MB RAID 1
