Test Server Vantage 8 error

Joanne,

I have been told by development that clicking yes will not corrupt
your database. We did so many times on both our live and test
databases and never had any problems. I later found out there is a
document on resolving this error message. Contact support and ask
for Page 6293MPS. It is very detailed and should take care of your
problem. Also, from my understanding, this happens when you select
English/United States instead of English/USA II (that is not
mentioned in the doc).

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

We have Vantage 8.00 804b installed on a test server. I can get into
the application and the MES program. However I get the following error
for both Admin Tools and the Schema Changes: 'The DLC environment
variable must contain a valid directory/path(11002).' This error
occurs on the client machine not the server. Can anyone who has
installed version 8 offer any help in fixing this. Contacting Tech
support has yeilded no results. As always thanks for any help.
From the Icon properties, in the target field make sure that the path to
the mfgsys.ini file is in UNC format.

Then on the Vantage sever browse to
<drive>:\epicor\mfgsys\server\config\mfgsys.ini, edit the file and make
sure that the DLC path is also in UNC format.

Ie

DLC=\\my_server\epicor\oe100b

We changed the .ini file to the UNC format and now when I try and go
into the admin tools I get the following error:

'Your database codepages does not match your session code pages.
This could potentially cause database corruption. Do you want to
continue?'

Since this is only a test server, I clicked yes to continue and then
I can get into the admin tools. But obiviously there is still
something wrong. Can anyone offer help or suggestions in resolving
this? TIA

Call technical support to fix this. It has been wrong from the
beginning but now the patches are checking it.
This is a two minute fix. I fixed ours last week.

We changed the .ini file to the UNC format and now when I try and go
into the admin tools I get the following error:

'Your database codepages does not match your session code pages.
This could potentially cause database corruption. Do you want to
continue?'

Since this is only a test server, I clicked yes to continue and then I
can get into the admin tools. But obiviously there is still something
wrong. Can anyone offer help or suggestions in resolving this? TIA

Are you, by chance, connecting to the server via Remote Desktop?
