I am currently setting up a test server so I can convert from
Vantage 3.00 to 4.00. The installation instructions for setting up the
progress 8.3a client software say that I must not perform this installation
from the file server but must do it from a workstation. Does anyone know
why it says this, and why can't I just map a drive letter on the file server
to its own hard drive and do the installation from there. I have done this
in the past and it seems to have worked out for me, but I would like to know
what the reasoning is for not doing it at the file server.
