We increased the -L parameter in the \dlcsrv\STARTUP.PF file from 5000 to
15000, and nobody could log on. We reduced it to 10000, and were able to
get the details for our 1500 part assembly just fine.

I just applied patch 5.00.319, and it didn't help. The -L problem happens
during the Cost Set Entry when I choose all 9,323 parts in the part master.
I guess it's a lot of records to chew on. We're in testing on 5.0 now, and
once we're live it won't be an issue for the most part.

The 5.00.318 patch was supposed to have fixed this -L problem. Are you

In Vantage 5.0 I've set the -L to 100,000 temporarily. I say
temporarily because if you leave it that high it will hurt performance.
After you get your job through, you may want to set it back lower. 5,000 is
the default, I believe.

Increase the value of the -L parameter in the startup.pf file. For
Vantage
3, it should be in DWC\DLCSRV You'll need to stop & restart the
database
service to take effect.
