Theme colors per user reset

Hey gang,

We color coded our Epicor LIVE to Green so users would have a better idea of which was LIVE and which was TEST, however in previous versions users could choose to have that settings or back to default blue. Looks like they moved that setting or potentially removed it. I have a user that seems to get migraines from our chosen color, does anyone know where I can turn this off for this user? Before I have to go hunt and peck for another suitable alternate color scheme.

You have to flip a feature flag in the dB, I think. There is a post on here with the flag to change. I’ll try and track it down. Or someone else may have it handy and can link to it.

If you’d like to keep your colors, but override at the user level, you’ll need a bpm I believe.

I may have posted the info already somewhere.

If you are using Epicor in the cloud and use Chrome to access it, there is a really good extension on the Chrome Store called URL colours, where you can set a border colour based on the URL. I use this for our customers, green for live and red for pilot.

As with ANY browser extension, make sure you periodically check their security. URLColours was flagged as malware a few years ago because the author didn’t get some suggestions from Google for him to fix.

Also, keep an eye out if the ownership of the extension changes.

And in an enterprise environment operate on a white list model for extensions. It’s too hard to control otherwise. And the risk is far too high.

We have multi-company and multi-site. The color themes being removed in the 2026 upgrade also is giving our users migraines. We now have to pick better colors on some of the companies and remove the colors altogether on other companies. The departments that are in all companies all day are not happy because they don’t know which one they are in now. We just can’t win. I put an Epicor Idea to bring the themes back. So what I realized with the 2026.100 upgrade is that if you set the Site color for different environments… it used to just change the color in the status bar; but in 2026.100 it changes the entire color scheme. I actually like this change, because too many times I had a user do something, only to then realize they did it in the wrong environment because they had both environments open.

So what I have done is left our Live environment without any color set, and then set the colors for our other environments.

For those with multi-sites / companies… I would really test out the colors you’re setting to ensure they aren’t overly dramatic and painful to the eyes. Subtle seems to always work best (avoid bold color settings).
