Jim,

So damn easy and yet so elusive.

Thanks, worked perfectly.

seconds since midnight.

I am trying to use the time editor vs the datetimeeditor for the first time.
I keep getting an error "Object cannot be cast from DBNull to other types"

It is tied to a date field, I also tried a shortChar field but I cannot get it to work either way. What simple step am I missing here?
I figured it out, it is using an integer not a date field to store for the epiTimeEditor. Set it to a number field and it works.

Does anyone have a VB example on how to set the time in a Time Editor field.

Thanks,

Scott
From customization mode, go to Tools > Object Explorer.
Click the 'Data Objects' tab.

Find the dataView you want to play with, expand to the field you want and it
will give you the code you need.

I have looked at the properties and methods previously.

Here is my issue, I can set a variable to DateTime, which is in a long
format, (Month, Day, Year, Hour, Minute, Seconds)

then convert that to a Short Time String using
variableName.ToShortTimeString() method.

But I get the following when trying to assign the value to the Number field.
The TimeEditor field has to be a Number (Decimal) otherwise you get an
Invalid Cast when launching the form.

The following application error was encountered:

Input string was not in a correct format.Couldn't store <2:00 PM> in
Number02 Column. Expected type is Decimal.

So I attempted to convert (System.Convert.ToDecimal) the String back to a
Decimal and get the following

The following application error was encountered:

Input string was not in a correct format.

Which is most likely due to the AM/PM designation or the : (colon). And
looking at the AddHours or AddMinutes methods they only are Returns (Gets)
not Sets.

Scott
