I just want to head off some fo the many emails I have received.. (three so far this week).
Time & Expense Entry has been SPLIT in the Browser based version. This decision was made a while back (before my Project Management days) so I don’t know all the reasons, except that it was decided best for the application to have two programs:
Time Entry
Expense Entry
If you attempt to run the OLD Time & Expense entry from the browser, it has no choice but to try to launch the Smart Client version via the Edge Agent.
So… as long as you have not customized T&E entry, i would encourage you to disable this old menu choice and give your team members the heads up that this is now two programs.

We ran into that when we did our Kinetic UI cut-over. We never really used it for Expenses so just changed the menu to the new Time form so it didn’t break all the Home pages for our users. Some quirks with it but overall our users adjusted pretty well and we never had any customizations here so didn’t have to refactor anything.
For us, that’s a good thing, we were able to get some of our users using Expense Entry because that portion of the classic screen wasn’t customized. (we are using classic screens still) For Time, they still have to use the old one, because that part IS highly customized.
We are trying to get our users on Kinetic in a browser and I was recently asked, how can changes be made to an employee’s labor record? Sometimes they select the wrong serial number when ending activity. Or they forget to clock out and their time is wrong. Currently, their supervisor will recall, adjust then resubmit in Time and Expense. Where might that be accomplished in the future?
Thank you. Stupid me didn’t dive down far enough in Time Entry. Compounding that error, I was also working in Pilot with financials already closed for the last month recorded for labor.
