Time Phased report

Jim,
I am told that the 2572 shows up, but the purchased 2572-1 does not.
And that is the problem. We are running out of purchased, stocked,
raw materials.
Then Time phased is run with the "BOTH" and "BOTH" for purchased and
stocked items.
I will be out of town starting later today, so you may see this
thread picked up my one of my co-workers, mheffernan@...

Thanks for you time!!

Andrew

To all,
I have a stocked, manufactured, part; part number 7700. It has an
assembly, part number 2572. This assembly has a purchased material,
part number 2572-1. When a production order is entered for the 7700,
we do not see the demand on the material 2572-1. Why is this? The
assembly is a stocked item, as is the material... What should I look
for?

Any help is MUCH appreciated. Purchasing is pulling their hair out!

Andrew
Andrew,

Is the assembly 2572 a material on the job for 7700 or an assembly? Is the
assembly part number 2572 being produced or pulled from stock? How is the
material 2572-1 linked to the assembly 2572? Is it backflushed or purchased?

Jim,
These are all great questions, let's see what Vantage shows:
1. On the BOM, 2572 is a subassembly of the top assembly 7700. 2572-1
is a material of subassembly 2572. On the job however, 2572 is a
material to the top assemply 7700... Hmm Why is that? Is that ok?
2. Looking at the material pn 2572 on a job, it is not backflushed,
purchased direct, or manufactured direct (none of these check boxes
are checked)

I went into the training database, and created a job for 7700 to be
built for stock. 2572 was pulled in as a material. Looking at the
routing for 7700, 2572 has Pull as Assembly NOT checked, and View as
Assembly CHECKED.

I hope this gives you enough info to point me further into the right
direction...

My many thanks in advance!!
Andrew

Andrew,
Are they running the time phase for both manufacture and purchased? 2572-1
you said is set up as a purchased part. If 2572 is a subassembly then it is
assumed it will be made therefore no suggestion on the time phase will be
created. The subassembly needs to be pulled from stock if you want it to
show on the time phase. You shouldn't have the 2572 listed as an assembly
and as a material because that means you should be producing one and issuing
one. Is the 2572 showing up on the time phase at all?
