One aproach we used is to add a line to the customer PO identifying
returnable containers, using an estimated number as to requirement. Then
"Shipped" a line item for the containers. We then set up a Purchase Order
with an open end, with the Customer as a Vendor. Then when containers
returned we received against the PO. Of course there was a part master
record for the container. It didn't quite work for us because the
individuals involved got bored with it, and didn't think it mattered whether
or not things were received correctly.

Subject: [Vantage] Tracking Returnable Container in Vantage
We have a growing number of customers requesting the use of
returnable containers. Is anyone using Vantage to track returnable
containers? If so, how?
Thanks,
Gail
