Tracking user activity

Thanks it all makes sense but at this point it won't help me find a log to prove who did it and when. I guess that I will have to start setting up some change log filters now for in the future. Thanks for both of your help.

I have been working on implementation of a new Epicor system and I am looking for a way to find out what a particular user has done in the past on our Pilot system. Specifically I want to know if a user deleted all employees from the system. So far I have not been able to find anything in the system that would help me accomplish this.
Change Log will show you additions and changes to data; but if 9.x is the
same as 8.x, the Change Log will NOT show you Deletions, very unfortunately.

Change Log is not activated on any tables out-of-the-box. You need to
configure which tables get tracked.

You can see the Change Log on most screens. For example, in Part
Maintenance go to Actions (on the menu bar) and then down to Change Log.
You must have "something" in context for this to work. In this case, open
any Part Number and go to Actions/ChangeLog as if you were attempting to get
some info about it. The Change Log Viewer pops open for that Part.

To implement Change Logs, you need to set up BAMs on each of the tables that
you wish to track. Biz Activity Manager (BAM) is found under System Mgmt /
Utilities. Once opened, choose a table to track.. like "Part". Then select
the fields you wish to monitor. maybe TypeCode, CostMethod, TrackLots,
ProdCode, ClassID. Then, on the Action tab, check "Create Log" and then
save. Done.

To test, make a change to one of those fields you selected above in Part.
Then immediately open the ChangeLog in Part Maint on that Part Number.

Vic is right in the setup, but what he didn't mention is that it will trace activity from the point you create the log. You will not see past history if you did not start the log in the past.

Hope that made sense.
