Training Database 5.0

Terry,

I tried both. Neither made a difference with my training database. But I was
successful using procontrol to start and stop the the live database without using the
Progress Explorer. But the only problem I saw was Progress explorer did not
recognize it as running when I started it with Procontrol. But I was able to run
Vantage (opps sorry Emanufacturing) from a client.

Did he mention any problems with using procontrol? I agree with you I would rather
use procontrol than progress explorer.

Thanks,

Wayne,

Excuse my ignorance - but since my vantage 5.0 live is running okay, it is just
the training database. I am going to assume I would use:
d:\epic50\progress\bin\prostrct repair vntgtrn

Thank you!!!
Dina

Oh... actually the 5.0 bit flew right by me. That advice applies to 4.0 &
Progress 9.0. 5 is on Progress 9.1, so I'm not 100% the command is the
same. In the past, the database file name is the same in live, training,
etc. But the directory changes. For example, 4 was "vantage" in all of
them, and training was \VntgTrn\DB\Vantage So you can either change dir
to \VntgTrn\DB\ and use .\Vantage as the database name, or give it the
full path.

If the command and directory haven't changed too much, the whole thing
might be:
d:\epic50\progress\bin\prostrct repair d:\epic50\vntgtrn\db\vantage

But it might be best just to call tech suppt.

Progres explorer seems like a waste of time. I used procontrol
for v5 just fine. All software has to have an "explorer" these days.
