I believe that any material in WIP does not appear on any stock status reports nor does it show
as an accumulated quantity in the Transaction Detail.
Took us a bit of time to figure this out. If you finished the job to inventory and not to
sales order, then when the job is complete the stock status of the finished good and the
transaction Detail would show up as the finished good.
Maybe there would be some way to get to the details via the job detail table.

The users are relying on "Transaction Detail" history in part tracker to
get a "total" on hand quantity in the yard - however, although it lists
job produced quantities and shipments, it does not add them into the
total. We ship some products out of inventory and some we keep in the
job until shipped.
I'm a little confused myself as I'm trying to understand what the user
wants. I think this might be pretty easy if I get to the tables the
transaction detail module uses and build my own formula to include
inventory that stays in the job and is shipped from the job.
According to this user, the Transaction Detail should keep a running
total of both inventoried items and job balances for a grand total. Do
you understand?

I'm not sure what you mean by "inventory balancing". We have a
continuing problem of
reconciling Stock Status with GL and have never found the key. This
difference wanders from
month to month. Are you referring to this?

Our people are having problems because inventory isn't balancing because
their transaction detail doesn't include what is in the job. I've looked
at JobHeader and JobDtl tables and am wondering if they are the best way
to get the detail.
Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, how did you resolve it?
