Trick question?

Going through the insights survey and find this question to be… entertaining.

Maybe we should all “accidentally” go to Nashville instead?

Somebody still hungover from last week when they wrote that.

Prefer Nashville myself anyway…

Think Which One GIF

I prefer Nashville! Wouldn’t complain about going back next year.

I am getting a little tired getting asked the question every year “Where else would you like to have insights?” knowing full well it’s Vegas and Nashville on rotation. I mean, I go for the conference and the networking, not the location, but stop asking if you can’t take into account the answers anyways. I’m sure there are contracts and logistics that make it the way it is, but survey fatigue is real!

Yeah, that question seems pointless.

The size of the conference limits where it could be held anyway. And like you said, I’m sure there are contracts in both places the prohibit it from just moving one year.

When it asked for my name and where I worked, I was out.

That was optional.

They fixed it!

^^ @klincecum right there

The customer led sessions are the best anyways. So we all could go to Nashville and still learn a lot.

We were talking to an Epicor person at lunch one day and Florida did come up. Apparently there are renovations going on that would accommodate the size. Chicago was also mentioned, but, then dismissed.

Why not Denver, the bear is cute, and its in the middle of everyone’s time zone. Colorado Convention Center

Orlando (Orange County Convention Center) is plenty large enough, It may be TOO big (and expensive) for Insights. The plastics industry holds their expo there every three years. There’s no way Epicor would fill it all. I think its built mainly for large expos with a lot of open floor space for exhibitors. Perhaps not well suited for small classroom type sessions? Or perhaps it is but I’ve just never been there for that type of event.

I’m sure there are other convention centers in Florida that could be better suited for the size. (Tampa, Miami, etc.)

That same Plastics expo used to be in Chicago, but pricing and unions chased them out. Been in Orlando since 2012 I think.

Denver is an intriguing option. Would be a fun place to go! Been there, but never for a convention.

Yes! Denver is amazing! Let’s start a campaign, Insights 2028 - Denver

The other part is having enough adjacent hotel space I think the preference is too have them physically on-site to the convention center to avoid having to transport every day.

Denver is awesome!

Yeah and to that point, the light rail literally runs through the denver convention center, so its very easy to get to, plus there is the free bus that goes up and down 16th street, and tons of hotels in the area.

It makes me wonder if they have a self imposed requirement to have the convention have the hotel onsite that can house at least the majority of the attendees? The whole “The conference is too big” argument doesn’t hold water, there are plenty of other tech conference that are bigger that are in venues.

But again, they’ve been asking the same question for over 10 years now. I’m not sure if they are actually interested in changing anything. I’m sure the logistics are a lot easier when the venue is repeated, or they have other valid reasons for sticking with what they have.

Then why do they bother asking? I also wish they would get it out of May. Its really frustrating that its always plopped right in the middle of graduation season and mothers day.
