TS Error

We only came up with the problem after we upgraded to 6.1 in July this year.
We did not use email alerts in 5.2 but I do not recall that it had an email
configuration area where you could set up an email link port. Any future
feedback would be appreciated.

I would be interested in looking further into this. I am wondering if this
is a leftover from the old style where Vantage used the client's outlook to
send the email and not SMTP.
Is there anyone who knows what version used that function, and is there
anyone who can test if removing that port entry stops email alerts in that

I have to admit, this does not affect me on 6.1, but this project might
contribute to the group as a whole.
If no one is able, I will have some enhanced access to a couple of Epicor

will see what I can learn from them.

We appear to have solved this problem today, Aaron is correct it is caused
by the Global Alert Email Message port. Only one session of Vantage can
'listen' on this port and under TS you will have multiple sessions all
trying to 'listen' hence the advice that it is busy. The first user to login
each day would not get the error but subsequent users do. To fix it we
deleted the Email link port number from the setup and tested that email
alerts still worked. So far the alerts work and the tcp error has gone.

I have not been able to find out what this Email link port is used for, it
seems unnecessary (but I could get caught out on that soon) and if it is
needed then Epicor needs to resolve this for their Terminal Server
Customers.

Note, this is NOT the SMTP Port (25), that port is necessary for sending
emails and multiple users in TS can connect to it.

It's the Global Alert Email Message port, and it's giving you the same

This is caused by setting the email port in Vantage. There is no fix that I am aware of. You only get this message with Vantage running on T.S. There is no harm being done, just tell your users to ignore it if you have to have global alerts running.

Hope that helps,
Jeremy
