Two questions off topic

Microsoft has a DSCLIENT.EXE that will allow Windows 95, Windows 98 and
Windows NT 4 to join an Active Directory domain. But they will not get all
the benefits of later clients, such as being able to receive Group Policy.

Subject: [Vantage] Two questions off topic

1. Has anyone networked (attached to a domain) a W95 PC to W2003
Server? And, how did you do it?

2. Sorry we've been over this many times but what are the specs for a
W2003 server for 8.03? We are looking to run SQL for a second package
and Progress for Vantage on the same server.

Thanks!

1. I'm assuming that you are finding that Win95 PCs cannot log into the
Win2K3 domain.

You have to change the following item in the Default Domain Controllers
Group Policy Object.

Set 'Computer Configuration\Windows Settings\Security Settings\Local
Policies\Security Options\ Microsoft Network Server: Digitally sign
communications (always)' to Disable.

Actually there is an AD "plug-in" that also addresses this.

We took the GPO route because we have a machine with Win95 embedded
that couldn't be updated
