We are going live with 2x sites. POs will be raised from both but its the same receiving team so just wondering if there is a good solution for receiving POs? I can see switching site to be a problem as it takes a good 30+ seconds to do.
Almost thinking of creating two different user ids for each receiver. Anybody got any pointers I can test?
You won’t be able to receive to a site that the PO wasn’t setup for. Note that this doesn’t mean the site the user was in when they created the PO, but rather were it was to be received to. Normally PO’s default to the site they were created in. But on the PO’s Release and can dictate that it be received at another site.
Typically different sites have different physical addresses, and the ShipTo would also be different. You may run into problems if a PO was created with some lines going to site A and other to site B, but they share the same address. The supplier may make one shipment, with some packslip lines for site A and others for site B. You might not be able to make two different receipts with the same vendor and packslip number.
Your users can also set up favorites/home page tiles that are set to open in each site automatically. For example, you may have a “PO Entry - Main Site”, “PO Entry - Second Site”, “Receipt Entry - Main Site”, and “Receipt Entry - Second Site” set up. No matter which site the user is logged into when they click the tile, the window that opens will be in the correct site. That would bypass needing the user to manually change sites back and forth.
Thanks for this Tyler. Do you have a couple of bullet points on how to setup a favorite referncing a specific site as I wasn’t aware you could do that?
We’re currently on 10.2.600 so this is how we can add favorites/tiles:
Creating a Favorite entry using Epicor 10.2.600 “Modern”/Metro interface:
Right-click the menu item you want to create a favorite for
In the pop-up window, use the “Would you like to select a different Company context?” dropdown to select the company/site this favorite item should always open in
