Ultra Combo Display

As a test, I added the job number that exists in the field to the drop down
selection options list. Now my data will return if it exists in the field
and the options list.

I have tried a few properties hoping there is one to control this. No
results. I want the drop-down box to behave as a text box for displaying
and a dropdown box for options selection.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

I have a customization that uses an ultracombo control. The control is
populated using the JobEntryAdapter. The control is bound to ShortChar01.



When I select a job from the dropdown box and save it updates the database.
When I reopen the module and then the record the ultracombo will not display
the field value. When I add a text box control right next to it and bound
to ShortChar01 it will show the field value.



Is it such that an ultracombo will not display a value on record retrieval
if the value does not previously exist in the ultracombo dataset?



The data is dependent on another field so I can't always pre-populate it.



Is there a way around this or am I just approaching this incorrectly?
