Unable to find VntgServ

Hi Jim

For v4 you need to find your Services file, open it with Notepad or Wordpad
and add:-

vantage 2900/tcp
vntgtrain 2910/tcp
at the bottom.

Make sure you use spaces and not Tabs to separate the text, also a carriage
return is needed after the last entry. Save after editing.

Could someone help some novices out with the following problem. After
installing netscape on one of our network computers we encounter the
following error when trying to load vantage. Unable to find VntgServ
with protocol TCP in file services or services file not in expected
location (5192). Could someone steer us in the right location. As I
stated you are dealing with novices here so please keep it simple.
Thanks in advance.

Sounds to me like you just need to do a search for the services file (in the
windows directory on 95/98), go to the end and retype your server name and
port number. Check the services file on a machine that is working correctly
for your name and number. Hope this helps.
