When I try importing a csv file for a lookup table, this error pops up.
I have looked in the technical reference guide and as far as I can tell it should work. I have tried all sorts of things from removing spaces in the file name to restructuring the excel file to pulling it from different drives and I always get the same message. The only other thing I can think of is that I might not have permissions on the server to perform this action. Any help would be appreciated.

Brian,
You didn't mention if you'd formatted the csv to the pclookup format. If
you didn't, try entering one manually and copying that format.
Also, you'll need to close the excel sheet before you start the import.

Could you elaborate on formatting a csv into the pclookup format? I am not familiar with that process and I did a bit of googling which didn't really help to clarify. Right now I just have a simple 2 column table that I saved as .csv in excel.

Yes, it's a non-intuitive format. :-)
If you'll go into the PcLookup maintenance and enter a table with the
fields you want (and a row or two of sample data), you can then export that
to a .csv file, open it in Excel and populate it, and then import it back
into the table. Remember to close the csv/excel file you've just edited
before you start the import.

Joe is correct, it’s an odd format but when you think that you have to have a single table representing all PcLookup column variations, it does make sense. Each row in the PcLookup represents a single cell in a table for a particular column/row ID. Otherwise, you would need multiple lookup tables. After you enter a couple of records, create a BAQ that browses the PcLookupTblValues table and it makes more sense.

So I made a column set with 2 columns and exported it to a csv file and when I opened it it looked like this picture without the highlighted cells.
Is that the correct pclookup format? and did I put my information(highlighted) in the right place?
When I tried to import this (without the highlighting, thats just for uploading here) I still get the same error. Also the file was closed so it wasn't that.
edit: I exported it from the Configurator Lookup Table Maintenance menu, I didn't see a Pclookup maintenance.

Oh, if you have any tables open in the PcLookup maintenance program you
have to clear them, too. the import doesn't do a thorough job of explaining
what it's complaining about.

Good!
I forgot to mention you might need a pocket full of curse words. :-)
