Unable to login to "Training Database"

I had a similar issue and ended up using the admin console and expiring the password. When you attempt to login it will prompt you to change the password.

I could not login when I attempted to do the database conversion (reset the serial numbers step in the guide).

This is an older version 8.0345

When trying another username/password it does return that authentication has failed, so that much is working.

Anything in the appserver logs? That should generate something.

I would take a look at your desktop shortcut and config files - I saw an error like that once when we were trying to separate the appservers. If you got to the point where you put in your login ID & password, the screen came up and then you got the app server then the problem could be with the process and/or task app servers (system monitor loads up right after login)
