Hi folks. Old topic thread but it's all I could find for same problem here. We run several Win 7 64-bit PCs and they can print Report Builder reports fine. But one new install comes up with the "unable to open convmap.cp" message. I have followed all the suggestions here as well as several from web searches without success. Since it affects just the one user I have to assume something wrong occurred in the setup (done by my assistant). But everything I can see looks same as my Win-7 64-bit machine.
We use the following batch file to install on Win-7 64-bit machines...
cd /d C:\
mkdir VNTGWORK
CACLS VNTGWORK /e /p Everyone:f
net use m: \\Vantage\Epicor
cd /d m:\prgs91d\netsetup
setup.exe /WAIT
cd m:\mfgsys61\ocx
instocx.exe /WAIT
cd /d C:\
%windir%\sysWOW64\odbcad32.exe /WAIT
mkdir Epicor
cd Epicor
mkdir MfgWk61
I've checked the DLC path in registry and it is correct and the convmap.cp file is in that same folder. Added PROENV and PROCFG paths too. Domain users have full rights to the file. Vantage runs fine. Report Builder runs reports OK too from within RB. Only when run from Vantage menu is there a problem.
Any more ideas or old recollections about this issue?
Thanks,

I had a problem with Report Builder also and fixed it by changing the
host file. Win 7 64 has a very large host file and for some reason
report builder would not find the reference to the vantage server if
it's near / at the bottom. I moved the reference to the server up high
on the first page of the host file and report builder started working.
hope this helps.
