When does the system update the quantity on hand when there is a demand for the part- does the system update the quantity on hand when a job order requiring these parts is created ( a demand for the part exist)? For example, if there are 20 units on hand and we create a job order that requires 18 of these units (a demand for the part now exists), does the system automatically update the quantity on hand when a job order is created?
The quantity on hand updates when you issue the material to the Job.
