If units of measure other than the system default are important to you and
you don't use master part numbers that much BEWARE. In Ver 5.1 the
use/introduction of "Our Unit" of measure has changed how Vantage deals with
unit's of measure. If you quote a non master file item in SF (square feet)
and an order is placed for the quote line item you must use the "double
click" convention and add the quantity/price to the order line item. If you
manually enter a qty and price the system default UM populates the UM field
in the order line. You can manually override it through a browser box but
that assumes you caught the change. When you go to the job, regardless of
how you entered the order info the UM is the system default, unless the part
was a system master part. So now you may have two additional chances to make
the wrong quantity based on unit of measure. We have an incident logged
749352MPS if this is an issue for you as well.
