Update before go live?

Hi folks - our team (and by team I mostly mean “me” ) is working on implementing Epicor and are planning to go live next month - mid month hopefully. I’m thinking that I should go ahead and update to 10.2.600 before we go live …or even before I populate the Production DB. We’re currently on 10.2.500.12. Any thoughts, suggestions, warnings, etc. that I should look out for? I’m not a fan of being the first one to download an update but I figured 10.2.600 had been out long enough for some of the kinks to have been worked out.

I appreciate any feedback at all!

The only major bug I knew of was External BAQs. Otherwise, unless you have customizations/BPMs/custom Reports/etc, you will appreciate going to a newer version beforehand. It will make you “more” up to date. 10.2.700 is soon to be released, FYI.

Thanks! I’ve been sitting here trying to determine which of the Priority #1 items on my list to do first… I think I’ll do the update first. We don’t have a lot of customizations or BPM’s – right now I feel like I’ve made a major accomplishment if “regular” stuff works…customizations may come later…

It depends upon how much testing you have done on modifications. If you haven’t started testing, then suggest to upgrade to 10.2.700. But we you have done most of the testing, then better upgrade to 10.2.600 as many of us tested 10.2.600

Thanks! We don’t really have any modifications other than a couple of reports and forms. That being said if there are a LOT of differences in 10.2.700 I may want to wait on that…I’ve got a pretty good handle on 10.2.500 and I’m not sure how much more my brain can tackle at the moment.

10.2.700 might be the last major version in E10 series. So better upgrade to it. With new versions, will get additional functionalities. If you don’t have modifications, you may not notice much difference but you will lot of new functionalities which can be used later.

Ok…so I went to epicweb and went to downloads and see the latest release is 10.2.600.13 - so I download it…and when I try to install it I get an error that says I don’t have 10.2.600 so I can’t…but I don’t see a download for 10.2.600. I’m feeling challenged here… I did an update to 10.2.500.12 but that was only from an earlier version of 10.2.500. I feel like this should be obvious and that I’m just not seeing it…

The primary version downloads are under the Releases node of the tree.

:woman_facepalming: Thanks…not sure why that seemed to be in “invisi-font” for me earlier…

I think .700 is actually going to be released this week, so again you might want to try that
