Hi all,

Just a little update, if anyone remembers, we were doing a new install
and they were selling us 8.0...

We've booted that system and are going with 6.1... Just too many bugs
and we felt like we were beta testing (if not alpha testing) the
software.

I ended up installing 6.1 on my own, using install instructions sent
to me... got it working the first day with few problems.. then I
loaded on a patch from the website and *kaboom* eveything stated
erroring out.. had to finally remove it all and reinstall.

the reinstall took 10 hours, 5 total reloads, 30+ server reboots...
different error every time.. most dealing with this crazy Progress DB.

Anyway.. spent what felt like hours typing in the license codes for
the live and training DB.. Finally have a system up and running.

One question, for now... Are ALL of the screens in little 8x8 windows
with no way of expanding them?????

Thanks,

Matt

Still sencond, third and forth guessing my decision to go with Vantage.
Welcome to vantage 6.1, maybe 8.0 doesn't seem so bad now.

What is your screen resolution set at? Vantage 6.1 works best with
800 X 600.

I have a higher powered maching, wide flat screen monitor..
1280x1024... Seems silly I should have to downsize my resolution
for one program. Should be able to resize my windows. Oh well,
probably does no good to complain about it.

It displays fine.. the main windows maximizes, but any app inside
vantage is limited to a small, unsizable window.

Can you not change this in the mfgsys.ini file? Try changing the settings
for the default window that are listed.

;x=
;y=
;rows=
;columns=
I have not had a problem with this so far, so have not tested it.
