Update Report Data Definition After Updating Underlying BAQs

, ,

I have created a Report Data Definition that combines the results from three BAQs, all grouped on JCDept. I realized I missed something in the BAQs, so I went back and updated all three BAQs by renaming the label for the fields. I hit Report Style > Actions > Sync Dataset for BAQ Report. I saved, and redownloaded the rdl. But my newly renamed fields are not included.

In general, if you have created a RDD and BAQ Report, when you update the underlying BAQs, how do you get those fields into the RDD and BAQ Report?

Bummer, the only time I have ever had success with that button is with a BAQ Report.

The usual method is to go into the report in designer and add the fields to the query:

And to the Fields section:

Depending on the complexity of the report design and query I have either done this or started from scratch with a blank report created from the updated dataset, whichever is easier/sounds more fun to you at the time.

:point_up_2: This is the way. While it’s technically possible to make Epicor push your new field to an rdl, I’ve found it easier and more reliable to DIY.
